Unity, A Sister Organization

The long and short of it:

Rev. Mark Hicks and Rev. Shad Groverland founded Fillmore Fellowship to be a home for those of us who no longer align with the current message or direction of Unity.

Unity has taken a decidedly new direction in its beliefs and theology that is more akin to Universalism, New Age, and/or Interfaith. Each of these are wonderful theology's and spiritual paths of their own and have a place, but not what our Founders taught.

So while we honor and bless this new direction for Unity, we also recognize a large populous of students, teachers, minister, groups, churches, and centers that see it as a shift away from the practical, metaphysical Christianity they did teach.

Fillmore Fellowship is a return to  what our founders called "Practical Christianity" and a home for us Practical Christians, Metaphysical Christians, New Thought Christians, and what some simply call Fillmorians.

We are not directly affiliated with Unity but we do come from the same roots and continue to strive to work closely with all our sister organizations in Unity such as: Unity World Headquarters, Unity Village, Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute, Unity Urban Ministerial School, Unity Minister's Association, the domestic and international Unity regions, schools, associations, churches and centers.

If you would like more information about Unity's "theological drift" over time, and some of the reasons Fillmore Faith came about, enjoy the links below for articles by Rev. Shad and Rev. Mark.
