Our Founders

Myrtle Fillmore

Myrtle Fillmore’s beginnings were ordinary to the casual viewer, but she was a mystical little girl who grew up to become the cofounder of a worldwide spiritual movement that influences people today. Her early career teaching school prepared her to teach Truth principles later to adults and children. Her astonishing healing experience through prayer and the power of thought led to the creation of the global Unity prayer ministry called Silent Unity. She was often referred to as the heart of Unity and was known for her firm but compassionate healing letters to people throughout the world who requested prayer.

Charles Fillmore

Charles Sherlock Fillmore (August 22, 1854 — July 5, 1948), born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, founded Unity, a church within the New Thought movement, with his wife, Myrtle Page Fillmore, in 1889. He became known as an American mystic for his contributions to metaphysical interpretations of Biblical scripture.

Fillmore.org is a project founded by Rev. Shad Groverland and Rev. Mark Hicks.

We welcome collaboration with other Fillmore based ministries.
